In loving Memory

Mommy

As I sat watching by your bed,
A million thoughts ran through  my head.
Of just how much were you aware?
Did you know that I was there?

Could  you feel the love I sent,
In whispered word, or prayer bent?
Upon my cross as I asked God,
To spare your life for my  selfish cause?

So that I could tell you just once more,
"I love you Mommy!" as I had before.
And we could chat like days of old,
Over coffee cups all rimmed with gold.

And laugh and joke, or just to share
Some small hurt and perhaps a tear.
To talk of the past, or things yet to do.
To sniffle, and sneeze, and say "Bless You!"

All these dreams now hang in shreds,
As I sit here with bowed down head.
And ponder on these sad thoughts.
Just to wonder, "Was it all for naught?"

Wings Of The Angels

A gentle wind blew cross the land
Reaching out to take a hand
For on the winds the angels came
Calling out a mother's name.

Left behind, the children's tears
Loving memories of the years
Of joy and love, a life well spent
And now to God a mother's sent.

On angel's wings, a heavenly flight
The journey home, towards the light
To those who weep, a life is gone
But in God's love, 'tis but the dawn.

All through my troubled childhood and  through my rebellious adolescence and through adulthood,
I always knew that you loved me, Mama! I hope you knew that I always loved you too .

As  you must know I did what you asked of me. I brought you home and put Jim with you and I looked after Daddy for as long as I could. Daddy was really sick but I stayed with him most of the time and I was with him at the end. I  did the best I could do Mama. I am sorry if I disappointed you. I hope you are happy to be with Daddy again. I also hope you like this page that I have made for you.

I miss you Mama!

Your loving daughter
